- Welcome to my art blog. I am a graphic designer with a background in Painting. I particularly love to paint abstract paintings. I use a variety of mediums, which includes alkyd oils, oil sticks, enamels and spray paint. For me, painting is about the experience and the process of applying different mediums to the canvas. I rarely use a paintbrush. I enjoy using palette knives and scrapers of all sizes, objects that one may not typically use to paint with. I also mix the paint right on the canvas as well. I am not afraid to experiment. When I start a painting, I do not know what direction it will go in or how it will end up. I typically let the medium direct me. I love to layer the various mediums on top of each other to create a sense of depth. Some of the mediums I choose to use are hard to control, which allows me to be freer with my art. I love the organic lines or shapes I can get with the enamel when I pour it straight from the can onto the canvas. Color and texture are a big part of my artwork and helps me create a visual playground for the viewer to get lost in.
